A New Program for Homeowners
This week: Pasco rehabs and massive potholes

Partner with What’s Up Wesley Chapel

A Public Service Announcement from your friends at American Roof Pros.
The deadline to file your claim for damage from Hurricane Milton is October 9. After that, if you spot anything, a loose shingle, a missing nail, a slightly discolored spot on your ceiling…you’re on your own. It could also mean claims from later storms get denied as “preexisting.” Don’t take the chance.
Roof inspections are free. Out-of-pocket repairs aren’t.

Pasco’s Rehab Program
Life happens. Roofs leak, ACs wheeze, and outlets try out for a fireworks show. Good news, Pasco homeowners: the Owner-Occupied Rehab program helps fix the serious stuff so you can stay put.

What it covers: must-do repairs like leaking roofs, unsafe wiring, busted plumbing or HVAC, and accessibility upgrades. Safety first, pretty later.
Who it’s for: folks living in their own home who qualify on income and need. This isn’t granite counters. It’s “please stop raining in my hallway.”
How it helps: long-term, zero-interest assistance that’s often deferred, sometimes forgiven, depending on your situation. Translation: fix it now without wrecking your budget.
Bottom line: if the house is throwing tantrums, don’t wait. Call Pasco Community Development and ask about Owner-Occupied Rehab. Quiet pipes, safe wiring, solid roof. That’s a Wesley Chapel kind of upgrade.
A Message From McBreen & Nowak P.A.
You’re in a wreck. A fender bender. A four-car pileup on I-75. The last thing you want to think about is calling an attorney. Depending on the severity, there may be more important priorities. But the question isn’t if you should call an attorney. It’s when.

A good personal injury attorney is the point guard who runs the play so you can focus on getting better. They can shield you from insurers, coordinate medical care, sort the money maze, value your claim, negotiate a fair settlement, and handle the paperwork from repair estimates to property damage releases.
Insurance adjusters don’t work for you. They work for the insurance company. You need someone who’s on your side. But the side of the road isn’t the place to start searching. Save a trusted attorney’s number in your phone or keep a card in your glove compartment. Hopefully you’ll never need it, but if you do, you’ll be glad you have it.

A Hole in One

Pasco woke up to a big ol’ hole in the road Thursday. A depression opened around 6 a.m. on Clock Tower Parkway at Majestic Blvd in Bayonet Point, and the eastbound lane’s closed while crews divert traffic. How long will it take? No one’s saying yet, so plan a detour and save your shocks.
County officials say it’s about 25 feet wide and five feet deep. They even warned it could grow, so don’t be the hero who tests the barricades, plan a detour.
