Rays Stadium Talks Move Forward… Slowly
Funding request drops, but a $75M gap keeps the deal from the finish line
The Rays stadium saga just took another step forward… but it’s still not across the finish line.

In the latest update to a story most around here have been following, the Tampa Bay Rays have trimmed their public funding request for a new stadium. It’s progress, but there’s still about a $75 million gap that hasn’t been resolved.
So while things are moving, the deal is far from done.
At this point, it’s less about if something gets built and more about how it gets paid for. County leaders and the team are still working through the details, trying to close that remaining gap.
The project itself is still massive, with a new stadium and surrounding development that could reshape part of Tampa and potentially make games more accessible for fans coming from Wesley Chapel.
But time is starting to matter. The longer this drags out, the more complicated and expensive it could become. For now, it’s a waiting game. Closer than before, but not quite there.
The Real What’s Up

When people think about adoption, they often picture a clear, straightforward path, but for many families, it’s anything but. Organizations like Saving Our Sisters are working to highlight a side of the conversation that doesn’t always get talked about, supporting expectant and new parents by helping them understand all of their options and, in some cases, providing resources that allow families to stay together. Because behind every adoption story is a family navigating one of life’s most difficult moments, and sometimes, having the right support can make all the difference.

Wiregrass Gets an Upgrade
Wesley Chapel shopping center adds luxury brands as area growth continues

Wesley Chapel’s shopping scene is getting an upgrade.
The Shops at Wiregrass is adding a wave of new, higher-end retailers as part of a broader push to bring more luxury and lifestyle brands into the area. If you’ve been around SR 56 lately, you’ve probably already noticed the shift.
This isn’t just a few new stores. It’s a move to turn Wiregrass into more of a destination. Recent updates to the property, along with incoming names like Lululemon and Kendra Scott, are helping reshape the overall experience.
Wesley Chapel’s rapid growth and strong local demand are making it an increasingly attractive spot for national brands looking to expand outside of Tampa.
For locals, that means more options closer to home.
And as these new additions roll out, expect Wiregrass to feel a little busier, a little more polished, and a little more like the center of it all.
