You’re Never Too Young To Make A Difference

Some eighth graders in Pasco County have the right idea: if you want something done, do it yourself.

That’s right, a group of Weightman middle schoolers pushed for a safer way to walk to and from campus, and it worked. After they raised concerns about kids trekking along grass and ditches near Curley and Wells, county and state leaders backed a project to build a standard 5-foot sidewalk that links Wesley Chapel Elementary, Weightman Middle, and Wesley Chapel High. Funding, about $1.75 million, is secured, construction is underway, and the goal is simple: give students, parents, and staff a continuous, safer route along that stretch. Expect occasional lane or shoulder closures while crews pour sections, with completion targeted in the coming months.

When it comes to your roof, get it done right the first time.

Around The Town

The Real What’s Up

Hope Children’s Home is a Tampa nonprofit, founded in 1968, that provides family-style residential care for children in crisis. Kids live in cottages on a 55-acre campus, attend an on-site school, and the ministry also serves children in New Mexico and Honduras—powered by local donors and volunteers.

Foodies Only

Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux in Lutz (25372 Sierra Center Blvd) is a family-friendly sports bar serving scratch-made Cajun-American fare, open daily from 11 a.m. and running later on weekends.

We’re Talking Fall All Week

This week, we ran some kind of fall story in all of our publications. Wesley Chapel, you know we couldn’t leave you out. Especially since some of our favorite fall events take place here.

Here’s your local forecast for feelings. Fake fall is clocking in. Not sweater weather, more like bring a hoodie and carry it around for three hours. Mornings will flirt with crisp, afternoons still want the AC, and somewhere in there, your weather app will promise a breeze that makes you believe again.

So let’s make it count. Try a sunset lap at District Park without melting. Wander KRATE or The Grove with a coffee that doesn’t evaporate. Hit a Friday game and actually stay for the fourth quarter. If you hear live music, follow it. If you see pumpkins, take a photo. If there is a market with kettle corn, you are legally required to buy a bag. I don’t make the rules.
