Big News for The Bay Area

If you felt a little déjà vu when you heard the news, you’re not wrong. The College Football Playoff National Championship is officially returning to Tampa Bay. On January 22, 2029, Raymond James Stadium will once again host the biggest game in college football, its first time since 2017.

Wesley Chapel wasn’t the dazzling beacon of success it is now. But if you remember that one, you remember the chaos. Downtown Tampa turned into a tailgate zone, hotels sold out faster than Florida concert tickets, and Clearwater Beach looked like spring break met the SEC. Turns out people really like football and 80-degree weather in January. Go figure.

In 2029, however, Wesley Chapel and friends may very well steal the show. We’ve come a long way, and when tens of thousands of football fans descend upon the state, they won’t just be looking for the nearest beach. They’ll be looking for a good meal, a place to stay, and some non-football entertainment. And that’s where we shine.

Hudson Library Gets a Makeover

The Hudson Library will be taking a little break. It’s not going away, it’s getting better. The building needs a few fixes and a good old-fashioned makeover. Leaks, outdated lighting and plumbing, and no teen space that doesn’t feel like an afterthought. The plan isn’t just cosmetic, it’s a full remodel that should give the community a modern, welcoming library worth the trip.

Yesterday was the last day for regular service. Reopening is expected in late 2027. While the building’s quiet, the library’s heart won’t stop: staff will serve from nearby branches, digital services will stay live, and readers can still place holds for pickup at other locations.

When the doors reopen, expect coastal themes, high tech, and updated spaces that basically beg you to grab a book and drift off on an adventure.
